I. Introduction of the Center


    Experimental Instrument Center of Institute of Radiation Medicine Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences was established in July 2014. There gathered all the large-scale equipment and public medium and small-sized equipment we have in the Institute and a shared instrument platform. Besides, the Center was equipped with X, γ-ray radiation source and radiation detection equipment; large-scale equipment for biological, biochemical and protein analyzing on life science and medical disciplines; and other medium and small-sized equipment for experimental studies of different disciplines. For device which is worth more than 200,000 yuan, the total value of all such devices has exceeded 10 million yuan. The total value of the other assisting and supporting small and medium equipment reaches nearly 5 million yuan.

    With the cooperation with the relevant laboratories, the Experimental Instrument Center has established the hematopoietic immune damage detection technology platform and the Biotechnology Training Center. Hematopoietic immune damage detection technology platform can perform different levels of experiments, such as animals, tissues, cells and molecules and assess the impact of the new compounds under different pathological conditions on organs, cells, gene and protein expression and function of the hematopoietic and immune system. In the past five years, the platform undertook more than 20 projects including 973 sub-projects and projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, published nearly one hundred papers, and applied for more than 10 patents. With the cooperation with the Institute of Radiation Medicine Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and the Key Laboratory of Radiation Medicine and Molecular Nuclear Medicine in Tianjin, the Biotechnology Training Center hired the scientific and technical personnel in this institute with rich relevant theoretical knowledge and experimental experience, to carry out the experimental design, experimental operation and results analysis and other basic biological technology training by making use of the existing conditions of the Experimental Instrument Center and the Animal Center of the Institute of Radiation Medicine. For many years, the Training Center has successfully organized national experimental technology training courses and is well received.

II. Main Instruments

IV. Expert Profile


Wang Chenguang, US citizen, postdoctor of Albert Einstein College of Medicine, doctor of Chinese Academy of Sciences, master of Cancer Institute, Guangzhou Medical College of China (now Guangzhou Medical University), Bachelor of Science of Beijing Normal University. He has worked in a number of research institutes as unpaid part-time job and taught in doctoral programs in China and the United States. He has great interest in transcriptional control of cancer cell cycle D1 gene expression, function analysis of hormonal regulation of biological receptor and relax control of lipogenesis signaling pathway in cancer. He has won the travel funding award for the young researchers to explore the diagnosis and travel funding award from Endocrine Society and applied for patent for the compound composition and method of treating cancer with distorted lipogenesis signaling. 
Zhao Yongcheng, researcher and postgraduate tutor. He is currently secretary to the Radiation Health Professional Committee of Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, and member of Isotope Technology Committee of China Standardization Technical Committee and member of the fifth China Committee of the International Association for the Study of radiation. He has won Tianjin Science and Technology Progress Award twice, an award from Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Ministry of Health and China Medical Prize, 3 registered results and 9 RIA kit lot numbers and published 32 academic papers.

 

Li Deguan, Ph.D. He was born in May 1982. After graduation in 2005 as a master, he entered Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Laboratory of Institute of Radiation Medicine Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences in Chinese Peking Union Medical College, working on studies involving radiology and cell and molecular biology. In recent years, he has taken part in a number of projects from Natural Science Foundation of China and Tianjin Fund. He has mastered various techniques and methods required for carrying out the projects such as CAFC, CFU-GM experiment, knockout mice feeding, immune cell staining and flow cytometry, etc., and equipped with good research capabilities. For the past two years, he has, as project leader undertook one project from Tianjin Youth Fund and one project from the National Natural Science Youth Foundation, two projects of the institute, and one project from China Youth College Medical Fund. He has had more than 80 academic papers published, and owned 13 patents, registered 10 Tianjin achievements. As a member of the tutor group, he provided guidance for 9 doctoral students and many postgraduates. He served as instructor in the experiment technique training classes of China Preventive Medicine Association.

Sun Yuanming, researcher, member of the third China Society of Toxicology, director of Radiation Research and Radiation Processing Association. He graduated from Norman Bethune University of Medical Science in 1985 and obtained a master's degree from Chinese Peking Union Medical College in 1997. He has been working in Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences Institute of Radiation Medicine since August 1985 to date. From January 2007 - November 2007, funded by the Ministry of Education he went to the Laboratory of Medical Endocrine and Metabolic Diseases Medical Research Center of University of Southern Denmark for further study. He has participated in the project from National Natural Science Foundation of China, "Radiation induces HPRT gene mutation of residual damaged hematopoietic stem cell", the project from Ministry of Health Sciences Fund "Experimental Research on E838 prevention of postmenopausal osteoporosis", the Sino-Japanese cooperation project "Radiation dose reconstruction for workers involving medical X-ray with in situ hybridization" and the project from Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences Fund "Research on the degree of tumor risk for workers involving medical X-ray caused by in situ hybridization". In recent years, he has been responsible for 2 projects from National Natural Science Fundation "Basic research on the effect of Notch pathway on the differentiation of radiation damaged stem cells to bone tissue" and "Differences of OVX rat osteoclasts in gene expression, relevant gene cloning and chromosomal localization" and the project from Tianjin Natural Science Foundation "Cloning of osteoporosis-related genes and their localization on chromosomes".
